Each note is an official legal tender currency from the British Commonwealth Nation of Antigua and Barbuda, minted in 23 karat gold and .999 fine silver. There are only 20,000 individual sets of 30, each portraying the golden age of treasure ships and pirates, issued by government decree worldwide. Each note bears a different, “original work of art crated especially for this issue by a famed maritime artist. The ship on each banknote appears in silver on 23 karat gold foil”. The collection is housed in a luxurious collector’s album and slipcase, with each banknote displayed on a four-page Collector’s Banknote Folio. The clear sheath protects the detailed artwork of each ship in the series, Antigua official seal, Queen Elizabeth, aerial view in frosted and polished detail of Antigua, individual serial number, and signature of John E. St. Luce, B. Sc., F.I.S., Minister of Finance of Antigua. Each folio includes a 1,700-word narrative text written especially of this series by the award-winning historian Christopher Moore.
